We have welcomed a new member into our family. She was born on Halloween (will be 12 weeks old this week- was 9 weeks when she came home with us) and she is so adorable! The pictures don't do her justice. Her name is Lux. There is a specific reason we chose this name. It means "Bright," "Light," "Let there be light," "Eternal Light," "Light and Truth," and my favorite: "Light from Darkness." We adopted her as the New Year rolled in and chose a "good luck" name for her. We wanted her to be kinda like a symbol. 2014 had to be better than 2013, right? Let's start over, come out of the darkness, and start living! That lasted a week....
While we are all head over heels in love with our Luxy Lady, we are not in love with the New Year quite yet. It has proven to be challenging already. But maybe with sweet cuddles from this tiny tiger and a little more time, this bumpy road will smooth itself out.
Is this not the sweetest thing you've ever seen?? These 2 became instant BFF's. Lux sleeps outside of Lucy's door when she isn't in her bed. I just love it!
She grows way too fast! She already looks like a "teenage" cat. She lost her kitten look immediately it seems....
Lux fits in perfectly with our family. FINALLY. Took awhile to find a pet for us that everyone loves and who is so well behaved. Lux doesn't mind all the tugging, pulling, pushing, tail yanking and picking up that the girls' little hands do to her daily. She loves to sleep with Lucy. She plays with all of us all day. She doesn't hide (like some other rude cats we've had) and she really is as friendly as can be. Shawn (a self-proclaimed cat HATER) even admits that he LOVES her; that's huge! He calls her Sweetie, and him and I argue who gets to hold her at night after the girls go to bed. She's truly a member of our family. You might hate cats, but I can assure you, Luxy is different- just ask Shawn:) He'll tell you she's more like a puppy than a kitten. Her favorite seat in the house is the one under Piper's highchair, she treats you like you're her best friend, and she is ALWAYS happy! She's a winner!
