"I will catch you!"

Yesterday as Lucy and I were soaking up some good old sunshine in the back yard, I suddenly heard her shouting "Come here birdy!  I will catch you!  Birdy, I'll catch you!"  Over and over again.  I looked over at her and she had her arms stretched up to the sky and was literally trying to catch a bird!  There was a raven way up high in our tree and she was trying to coax him or her down.  What a sweetie this girl is.  I love, love, love rediscovering the world through my 2 year old's eyes!  Out of my whole blog post, this is the thing I want to remember most because it was just that cute.

Quickly- Pi turned another corner.  She is standing up by herself now.  She crawls to a toy and pulls herself up.  Slow and steady with lots of huffing and puffing.  But she has managed.  Just twice.  But still.  She celebrated her 10 month "birthday" last week and is developing right along with all the "charts'" requirements.  She makes faces at us, copies our sounds (and truly tries to copy our words!), mimics facial expressions, is OBSESSED with pat-a-cake and has really started engaging with everyone.  She has started to build up her imagination, I've noticed, because I spy on her while she plays in her room and I can see her little brain working.  I love it.  I love the age of 10 months.  She's a stinker.  But she's MY stinker so I love her.
Unfortunately, she contracted Roseola this past week as well.  For 2 days she had a high fever (it spiked to 103.2 on Friday) and she lost her appetite.  She was screaming all day, wouldn't eat, wouldn't sleep, and was truly inconsolable.  I had a feeling it would turn out to be Roseola (because Lucy also had it at Piper's age) but I couldn't "diagnose" it until her rash would appear.  Which it did.  She broke out all along her hairline at first.  Then it traveled behind her ears and all down her stomach and back.  It lasted for 48 hours and now she's free of it.  She woke up from her nap this afternoon with no more splotches and all smiles.  It was good to have my sweet Pumpkin Pi back.  Gosh, I love that girl.
THOSE EYELASHES!
Lucy's been the sweetest, most "helpful" and obedient girl ever since we moved here.  This is worth mentioning because if you know Lucy, you know she is a pill.  Sweet but SOUR too!  However, she's been deliciously adorable and well-behaved since we moved into our new house that I just want to squeeze and kiss her all day.  She has been telling me when she has to go potty (NO ACCIDENTS) and even when we are in public she uses the public restrooms (this is a HUGE accomplishment for the girl who used to be terrified of anyone else's toilet but ours).  And I swear, she's just been happier lately.  Don't know why (could be that MY mood is up so hers is as well....).  But I love that girl to death and I'm so thankful for her sudden good-mood streak. Let's hope it's not just a phase.

We've been to the park that is literally 2 blocks away and the girls love it, so that's nice.  Lucy's current obsession is The Little Mermaid (and when I say obsession, I truly mean that she lives and breathes that movie every day). We've set up a little table that both girls enjoy sitting in to eat, snack or color at and it is turning into a sweet daily routine that I had to get a snap shot of (excuse the mess- I actually use this time to quickly clean while they're distracted and clearly I hadn't gotten to it quite yet!)... We were able to visit Daddy at work (all of his girl's are SO proud of him!!!) and we loved seeing his little office.  And we're all settling in quite nicely and I'm thankful for our blessings.

Alright folks.  I'm off to do my nightly "clean up" with some reality TV on in the background! Giuliana I'm coming!
Hehehe.
