Weekend Madness

A lot happened in 3 short days!

First, Kelsey Smidt became Kelsey Godinez and married Marco Godinez.  They are a cute couple and Lucy tore up the dance floor at the reception!
You know how good hair days are rare??? Well, I happened to have a good hair day the DAY before I decided to cut it....This made me really sad that it was going away.  But, let's get real.  Good hair days happen to me maybe 2x times a year- IF I'm lucky...So I knew it was just the Universes way of confusing me.
Piper was a little Flapper Girl! She was SO cute (and so grumpy!)....And this is little Greta, our family's newest addition!  I was able to get a little "Newborn Hungry" fix that night....I love the newborns!
There's not many things in life that a cuter than a 17 month old wearing heels!

Really great to see the Bair Family! I have the greatest childhood memories with these people!
Then I decided to get realistic and cut 12 inches off of my hair...because, lets face it.  I don't have time for brushing through massive amounts of tangles while Piper and Lucy are getting into mischief.  Last time I brushed my hair, Lucy informed me that Piper was putting toilet paper in the toilet. It's always fun to dip my hands into toilet water and hope it was clean....
After the hairdresser had already cut off the longest part of my hair and it was piling up nicely below my feet, I realized I wanted to keep a lock of it.  So she took the last small section in the front and put a little pony tail together for me to take home a souvenir.  She probably thinks I have a weird hair fetish, but I couldn't help wanting to keep some of it....I only wish I had remembered to get the whole thing in a pony tail because it was THICK!  This is only about 9 inches, not the whole 12.
A car selfie after a major hair change is totally necessary.  I will say though, the cut is actually much cuter in person.  I will grow it out again, but it's SO NICE to wear it down and not worry about dreadlocks forming!
My hair....attached to my head, and then unattached.
Then we went to the Circus!  The kids had free tickets so we took advantage.  It was definitely a "small town" circus but Lucy had so much fun.  She laughed at the weird (and kind of inappropriate) clowns and loved the animals.  We were hoping for Lions, but we still saw horses, tigers, elephants (Mommy's favorite part), dogs and a zebra.  No trapeze artists either, but as I said before, Lucy laughed through the whole show and that was worth it! Plus, small town means cheap tickets...
Then we had Fathers Day and you'll never believe it....this Mom who is attached to my camera didn't snap pictures of Shawn with the girls....Horrible, I know.  By the time I remembered, we were home on the couch and Shawn was in the air as he had to leave in the late afternoon for California.  This is his mid-training week where we find out where we will move!  I'm nervous but just want to know so I can start getting things done.  If you know me, you know that I absolutely HATE being "stuck-in-limbo."  It's torture for me!
I did get a chance to snap a couple cute pictures of Lucy in her "Father's Day" shirt.... It says "I found my Prince, his name is Daddy."  Two Christmases ago I made a wooden sign for Shawn that says this too.  It hangs in the Girl's room :)

So, that's a wrap!  I'm just pacing, waiting for that phone call from Shawn...
