Seattle (Again!) and some BIG news!

If the universe wanted me living in Seattle, they would have arranged for Shawn's job to have an opening there...but as it turns out, God has decided to place us in New Hampshire of all places....(Seattle has climbed in positions on my "desirable-places-to-live" list: I'm IN LOVE with the city!  Was crossing my fingers for it, but it's not happening this time around).  OH WELL.  Shawn FINALLY received his territory location and it turns out they want us in New England.  His territory is Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.  He will have some places in Boston as well-  I'M GOING WITH HIM EVERY TIME! His territory is large, so for now it'll be just him overseeing all of those dealers, but in about 6 months they will split it and bring someone else out to take over half of it.  As of right now, it looks like he will be a BUSY man for the first while.

I'm a Google addict and have looked up anything and everything related to New Hampshire.  I am ECSTATIC.  At first, the news hit me like a ton of bricks and I cried.  All I could think about was the distance from family, plus we REALLY thought we were going to Vegas (awful weather, but my sweet Sister lives there and I was hopeful I'd get to be neighbors with her!).  But I called my parents who immediately cheered me up and told me how cool it's gonna be and what a great adventure it'll be.  So I started warming up to the idea....and then as I began my research (safest state in the Nation! No sales or state income tax, no Common Core Education) and making "East Coast Adventure Lists" with Shawn, my excitement set in.  There are gonna be Boston Red Sox games to attend, St. Patricks Day parades in the big cities, amazing foliage in the Fall, nice Summers (beaches!!), crabbing, Nantucket, Cape Cod, amazing bridges and monuments to discover, lakes and rivers EVERYWHERE, etc.  There is so much to explore out in New England and I know I'm gonna love it.  We have 3 years we have to be there so I hope I get to cross off all of our "wishes"!  In fact, today I talked to a guy who lives in CDA right now but is from New England and said New England is WAY better than the NW and he wishes so badly he could go back forever.  Shawn's new manager is currently living in Boston but he's also from the NW and said he prefers New England as well and never wants to leave.  Not saying that's gonna happen to me, but it's likely I'll fall in love with the place :)

The only obstacle in our way right now is finding a house.  Yikes.  It's a different world out there and trying to navigate through it while being across the country has been tough.  Really tough.  I'm praying that when we visit in 2 weeks we will find something....

Anyway, we decide to do Seattle one last time and it did NOT disappoint.  I am so in love with that place.  (The trip home was dreadful though. We got stuck in the world's worst traffic.  It took us 9 hours- NINE- to get home. It's usually no more than a 5 hour drive.)  So the girls and I ventured into the city some more and did the beach thing again.  At night we ate at yummy places that we normally don't get to go to and during the day we were tourists.  I don't know when I will get the chance to go back to Seattle, but at least I took a lot of pictures to remind me of the good times we had :)
Now, for your viewing pleasure....

Can we all just take a moment to fall in love with Lucy's 70's outfit?  Belly shirt and bell bottoms! LOVE!
The Horse at PF Changs is fascinating to little girls :)
Had to catch some World Cup while we were there...

The girls helping me pack up our room.  Riding on the cart was super fun for them :)
We ate at this really neat cafe with Accordions hanging from the ceiling, old fashioned car replicas built into the tables, and walls of OLD radios lining the shelves. It was so cool!
So now Shawn's off to Venice, Florida this week and I'll get started on packing up all of our closets and getting moving quotes!  Aren't I lucky? :(

Bye for now!

  2. How exciting for your move! We have some friends who just moved there and they love it. I was nervous at first moving to the Midwest and I decided to have an open attitude and look at positives. By the end of our stay I was so sad when I had to move back to Oregon from Kansas I cried! Now we look back on our Kansas days with nothing but good memories. All about the way you look at things:)
