4th of July and some cute buns!

Our 4th of July was ultra-laid back and relaxing.....ahhhh, just how I like it!  We started off watching The Sandlot like always, and then our neighbors all gathered together on our street to light off our own fireworks and grill burgers and hot dogs.  They also swore to us that eating a hot-dog with whipped cream on it was delicious (one of their hidden secrets) and while I didn't find it absolutely disgusting (but won't be eating it again), Shawn LOVED it.  I guess if you're bored, it's worth trying....

Anyway, the girls loved, loved, loved watching the fireworks but had to be persuaded with the sparklers.  And right after Piper was brave enough to trust us, she grabbed one (the wrong end) and burned her little fingers :(  Poor Pi baby.  She had 2 little blisters and cried for about 2 hours.....luckily we were home to treat it and get her to bed.  Up until that point, the night was perfect.

Below are some pictures from the last 2 weeks.  We watched the Ironman and Lucy got pretty cute cheering on the racers.  Also, we've swam a couple of times.  In the pool and in the beautiful CDA lake (along with some Tubbs hill/rock jumping action on my part- that's one of my favorite things to do EVER!).  Anyway, the girls have the cutest buns EVER, which is where the title of this post comes from.  You'll see what I'm talking about below ;-)

 In the picture on the right, Lucy's wedgie is cute, but look ahead of her.  Piper's is even BETTER! 

 Piper has turned into a little fishy!  She loves swimming in the lake- it makes Lucy a little nervous.  But P floated around forever.  The little family of ducks let her get very close to them.  And that's chips floating in the water, not yucky stuff.  Haha, we were feeding those ducks.

Lucy picked me these "flowers" AND arranged them into a bouquet.  My heart melted!

 

I had to take some 4th of July "selfies" because it's my favorite "make-up" holiday of the year! RED WHITE AND BLUE ALL OVER!

 At one point in the night, Lucy got into my red lipstick.  It was too cute on her to get mad.  She thought she looked SO pretty.  She's snuck into my makeup several times in the last couple of months....she's definitely ALL girl!  Takes after her Mommy, just the way I like it :)

 This is one proud little girl.  She climbed this tree all by herself and demanded a picture! Go Lucy!

 Now we leave for New Hampshire this week- we're not moving yet, but we are flying out to nail down a house.  Wish us luck!
