They are:
Making it to week 13- first trimester is done and your chances of miscarrying are slim-to-none!
Making it to week 25- at this point, your baby's life can be saved if born after this week (with a whole lot of medical intervention, but saved, nonetheless!) Man, was I relieved to get past this milestone!
Making it to week 32- all organs are developed! Lungs still need more work and the brain is still "getting smarter" but everything is pumping away! Congrats Piper, we've made it this far! :)
Making to week 35- at this point, they say the lungs are most likely strong enough to withstand breathing on their own! Baby is just adding fat under his/her skin right now, and her bones are getting stronger. Girl's lungs develop a wee bit faster than boy's lungs, so the little men need to get to 36 weeks for their "lung safety." If you are on bedrest, doctors say that you can get up after you've made it through 35 weeks. That's good news for all those miserable bed rested Mama's!
Making it to week 37- Yay- you made it to TERM! You can now have your baby and smell her too ;-) Your baby is finished developing and it just hanging out and getting plumper and stronger by the day (I prayed Lucy would come at 37 weeks, but she didn't want to. Will Piper be my obedient daughter? Let's hope!!)
Last milestone: Labor and Delivery- biggest milestone if you ask me. Enough said!
I am so relieved each and every time I meet one of these imporant weeks. It's so amazing how Heavenly Father has such a unique plan for Mother's and their baby's. I mean really- it's just incredible. A tiny little cell that grows into a human being inside the womb of a woman. Even though pregnancy is very uncomfortable, I feel extremely thankful that I get to experience God's biggest (but tiny!) miracle :)
Also, I'm very happy to have almost made it to November. I was going through my calendar for the next 8 weeks writing down all that needs to get done in time for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and a new baby, and I was feeling very overwhelmed with all of my to-dos! But then I realized that I should be thankful! It just means that *hopefully* the next weeks fly by, and *hopefully* Piper will be here before I know it! Maybe all of the busy work will put me into labor early. Haha, once again... *hopefully*.
My little princess :) |
Until next time!.... Have a good week and a SAFE and Happy Halloween!
P.S. I should mention (for prosperity's sake) that I broke my toe on Friday (and in my 32 wk pictures I was hiding my big bandage with slippers). I was digging through the pantry shelf for some hidden candy I have stashed away (I KNEW I shouldn't have been eating that junk) and down came a can of diced tomatoes. The lip of the can hit my big toe in JUST the right place. It cracked open my toenail, chipped my bone, and caused a break below the chip. Who knew diced tomatoes could be dangerous enough to break a big toe in 2 places?? Lesson learned- Never eat candy again. HAAAA YEAH RIGHT!
Your Piper bump is beyond cute!! I am sorry to hear about your toe though... No FUN at all... Happy healing...
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable and beautiful. I love your belly. Lucy is also the cutest little thing. By the way, an underwear drawer is a much safer place to hide your stash! Thats where I keep my best chocolate:)
ReplyDeleteYou look so great! You make the stinkin cutest babies in the world, I can't wait to see pictures of your new little one!
ReplyDeleteBritt...YOU LOOK AMAZEBALLS!!!! You are so beautiful. I can't believe you are already 32 weeks, the time has just flown by (for me at least). CONGRATS, it's almost the final stretch! Sorry about your toe, bummer. XOXO
