Our Family Pictures

So, I just updated our blog layout (I usually only do it once a year cause it takes FOREVER!) and while I'm at it, I'll add our family pictures to a post as well.  I have been waiting to do this until our Christmas Cards were sent out, and now that everyone seems to have gotten theirs from us, I can post our pictures for the blogging world to see. 

Here are the 2013 Gilley Family Pictures.  Taken by none other than "Aunt Tip" back in September in Eagle, right before we moved up to CDA.  Bear with me, there is a lot!  But what makes a Mom happier than a batch of  uber-successful Family Pictures?  Not much.... Well, maybe some Smoky Davis....

If anyone doesn't know the story behind these boots, I'll tell it.  It's not long, don't worry....
Ok, so my whole life I always knew I'd have daughters.  I just KNEW it.  And I always said "I'm going to name my first little girl Lucy Barbara and I am going to buy her a pair of real, red cow-girl boots."  So right after I found out I was indeed pregnant with Lucy Barbara, I became a mad woman on my search for her red boots!  I looked for months and months and finally found some when she was about 3 months old.  I bought her a size that she could wear as a toddler (with images JUST LIKE THESE PICTURES dancing through my head) and was ecstatic to find that they fit her just in time for family pictures (yep, I kept them in her closet for 2 years just waiting til her feet would grow).  Ok, they were still a size too big here, but it was close enough and it's even better than I could have ever imagined 12 years ago.  She is a doll.  And now- double the pleasure, double the fun- Piper will get to wear them in a year or 2 as well! YAY!
