"Unc" and a whole lot more....

Uncle Jess came home from Brazil!  Lucy lovingly started calling him Unc- she shortens the world "Uncle" by leaving off the "le" part.  Ok, I kinda coaxed her into that, but it stuck and she started yelling at him right away- "HEY UNC!" She found a big, new friend to play with.  Score for her!  And it was sweet Piper's first time meeting him.  Love at first sight :)

It was SO good to see him.  I hugged him for a whole minute when I saw him.  We were at Nana's and I heard his voice first, and so I ran down the hall and threw myself at him.  I love that kid.  So glad he made it home safely.

Thank you for all you do Jess.  I am SO PROUD of the sacrifice and hard work you did every single day for 2 years.  My little girls' have a Hero in you.

Now off you go to find yourself a wife....hehehe!

THE CALENDAR IS IN FULL SWING and it's a delight to watch the girls open their goodies each night. Thanks to the grandmas for pitching in and helping our family fill it this year.  I LOVE this tradition more than anything :)
Because my Dad had business meetings up here, my parents drove up and that is how Jess was able to come visit (they brought him).  Therefore, Lucy was able to see Ninny and Papa last week too, and was one HAPPY little girl!  She really loves them!  Ninny took Lucy to go see Frozen at the theater on a date.  She said Lucy was silent the whole time and cuddled on her lap, happily staring at the big screen the entire movie.  It was her first trip as a toddler to the movie theater and she did great- she was in awe of the ginormous screen.  I'm sure the buttery popcorn helped :)  THANKS NINNY!

The family also taught Shawn how to play Scum.  I don't get it.  We've been together for almost 5 years and he's never played our family's favorite game!  How is that possible?? I don't know.  But I DO know that he was President almost the entire time (while I was Scum, go figure...) but it was so much fun :)
I took the girls to a play center drop-in and decided to make it easier for the leaders that day by putting them in their Christmas shirts with their names on them.  Grammy sent the girls a few of them for the Holiday Season so maybe I'll try this trick again next week too.  The leader seemed to appreciate it :)  Cute AND clever t-shirts!
Piper just adores Lucy.  She is always looking at her.  I LOVE IT!
Much to our WHOLE family's delight, we FINALLY got some snow after a month of NOTHING....  Not a lot, but enough to play in a bit.  We were too anxious to wait for morning so we played in it right after dinner, in the dark.  Still way fun!
Piper was kinda sad because she burned her little hand that day, causing blisters to appear the next morning.  It was so sad to hear her cry for so long.  She was in a somber mood that night, but really enjoyed the part when Daddy pulled her on the sled :)
This is PURE JOY.  Lucy absolutely loves snow!

The girls love that the Holiday Season brings extra crafts too...I love watching them color together.  It's the cutest.
Thanks for visiting Ninny, Papa and Jess! We love and miss you!

ONE MORE THING.  I was in the kitchen making the girls their breakfast yesterday, and I kept hearing them giggle and squeal at each other.  I thought to myself "how sweet that they are playing together and making each other so happy!"  Then I rounded the corner to tell them breakfast was ready.....and this is what I stumbled in on.  The pictures are blurry cause I didn't really have the energy to run and get my real camera, but I knew this was funny enough to capture.  It was actually hilarious to me.  At least it was paper and not something wet or sticky!
Those girls.....Nothin' but trouble! ;-)

15 Days Til Christmas, folks!

  1. Love this post! You need to send Jess your blog link so he can look at it. The pictures of him with the girls are so cute! I loved hearing about how you saw him. Wish I had been there to witness the big hug! Give those babies a hundred kisses for me!
