Just What This Girl Needed :)

Sometimes vacations are fun when they're jam-packed full of different adventures throughout your stay.  And sometimes they're simply made for relaxing and enjoying some down-time....and that is exactly what this last vacation was for me.  It was a whole week of R&R for me (minus the daily, torturous T25 workouts).  I love going home to Boise because my Mom takes over with Lucy (she really has no choice, Lucy DEMANDS all of her undivided attention and time) and I get to sit around and do things like....read!  And simply sit.  And that, my friends, is something I NEEDED.
 Mommy/ Daughter Pedicures :)

No one's iPhone is as cool as Ninny's iPhone

But of course...it's not a real vacation without a little shopping :)  Next time, though, we will remember to make sure both girls are on lock-down in strollers.  We only had one and the girls fighting over it, so while one was sitting in the stroller, the other (ahem *Piper* ahem) was running around, pushing displays over, picking up and throwing stacks of clothing, and as fast as we were putting the clothes away she was onto making the next mess.... and while Piper was strapped in, Lucy was throwing fits and running in and out of clothing racks....Between my Mom and I, we were barely breathing by the time we left Gap and were nervous to try more stores....  But we managed, and now it's a funny story to tell!  However, the next time we went shopping, we left the girls home with Papa (who was the girls hero that day as he supplied Dora and Extra Butter Popcorn....and chocolate, lots of it!) so that my mom and I could browse and walk through stores slowly....ahhhhh, Retail Therapy.  It was totally necessary.  These recent days of mine have been tough and stressful and it was SO good to spend time in and out of stores with my Mom :)  Just some good conversation, hugs, and shopping with one of the best people I know.

The only bad part of this trip was that Piper got her first ear ache ever.  I feel horrible because she was SCREAMING the whole way to Boise and I just thought she was mad because she was stuck in a car for 7 hours.  But turns out, she had an ear infection.  She was inconsolable Thursday for hours after we got to my parent's house (and if you know Pi, you know that's not like her at all) and then was up ALL. NIGHT. LONG.  Screaming.  I knew I had to take her into Urgent Care the next morning....and sure enough, she had an ear infection in her right ear.  I'm SO thankful for modern medicine that had her feeling better in a couple days.  Poor baby!  The drive home was 100x better today!
She was so sick, but very happy at the doctor!

This Boise trip was a time for Ninny to take Lucy to feed the ducks again, time for our daily green smoothies, time for slow days that still passed by quickly, time for Sister talks, time for the park, time for Lucy and Piper to get to spend a whole day with Aunt Tip at a Jump House, McDonalds and then Tiff's house for a play date with their cousins, a time for shopping, a time with family, and time for me to get to see my Brother Jess and most of my nieces and nephews.  It was just what the doctor ordered.
One of my all-time favorite pictures of Lucy.  Taken by Ninny :)
Lucy LOVES her Uncle Jess.  She picked up 2 big pillows from the couch and stacked them just like he did ( making sure that her bottom pillow was the same as his, and her top pillow too) and then brought them a blanket to lay under and watched TV with him.  It was one of those moments that just makes your heart smile!

 SUCH A GOOD UNCLE!
Have fun in Mexico Jess!
I just LOVE my siblings.  Really.  I am beyond blessed.  We all really are best friends!  Only one missing was Heidi.  Good thing I get to see her in June!
Thank you to all my Boise family for making my week so much fun.  We didn't do a lot, but we did more than enough.  You brought a smile into my heart, and that was something I 100% needed last week.  I couldn't have asked for a better week.

Next up, EASTER!
See you all soon :)

  1. Man, I look tired in these pics! Love the ones that I didn't know about. I never saw Lucy get on the floor with "Unc". I love the way she is so observant of EVERYTHING! We had such a good time having you here. There are still signs every where that our home was visited by two very busy little angels. I keep finding things in the most random places (Pi). I love those two girls more than you can imagine. How blessed we were to all be together!
