I'm writing this while Lucy is busy entertaining herself with a burp cloth on the couch, so I need to make this quick :) But we made another trip to Dallas over the Labor Day weekend, and it was fabulous! LSU played OSU and so my Dad and Shawn were rivals for the weekend and all of us girls had to go support our hubby's and their teams.
The "long" weekend went by much too quickly (as most vacations do) but it was so much fun while it lasted. It started out with Ninny getting to hold Lucy on the plane from Denver to Dallas so I got a "mommy duty" break! Then we went and introduced Lucy to her "Gilley" Aunts and Uncles who she hadn't met yet: Christa, Whitney, and Bobby and her cousin Peyton. She was a little fussy when we arrived, but we were happy that FINALLY everyone was able to meet her!
The actual game was a blast! LSU won, but the Ducks were good sports. I was lucky enough to get to see Mingo play and, of course, he did awesome and had some great sacks! It was the first time I have ever left Lucy for more than an hour, so I was pretty nervous. But she was in the hands of women who love her- Mary, Whitney and Christa. Still, I missed my little angel and had to leave the game a little early to get back to her. I really shouldn't have worried, but like I said, it was her first time being "baby-sat" so I kept imagining everything that could possible go wrong. Apparently, she was a sweetheart the whole time and her and Peyton even had some cousin bonding time :) I had nothing to worry about!
The next day, Shawn and I took Lucy to Allen, TX to see Scott and Lori and spend a little more time with my family. The husbands actually made delicious Wontons while the wives relaxed :) Then sadly, Monday we flew home. Lucy scored her own seat on the plane and just smiled the whole time....go figure (did you read my post below about our horrific flight alone together? It figures that when I have help I don't need it, and when I'm alone I need all the help I can get- haha!)
So anyway, we are now back in Denver- safe and sound. I can't wait until our next vacation- time in between family gatherings goes by way too slow!
