Fall Festival and Hand Foot Mouth Disease...

The title of this post is weird, right? Because first we had fun at Piper's Fall Festival, and then 3 days later Sully woke up with Hand Foot Mouth Disease.  It is a virus that can't be cured by antibiotics.  You just have to ride it out.  None of my kids have ever had this before, but as soon as I saw all of his bumps and blisters on his skin on Sunday morning I knew immediatley what it was. Poor boy is just miserable :'( For now we are keeping him home and away from everyone since it is highly contagious.  He is so itchy and can't sleep.  I think the itchiness wakes him up.  He also has no appetite, and that's probably because his mouth and throat hurt.  At first I was certain that he got it from my Gym Daycare, but then I remembered that I also took him to Piper's school for her Fall festival.  It could have been either place....But he's not happy and it breaks my heart.  He is extra cuddly though, and a little bit less busy (which, to be honest, has been nice).  But I don't like to see him uncomfortable.  Makes me sad.  They say the worst of it is the first 3 days after the sores pop up.  Today is number 2.  We're halfway there.
Anyway, the Fall Festival that I spoke of above was super cute! It was so much fun getting to visit Piper at her Fall Festival and watch her interact with her friends. She is SUCH a little social butterfly🦋! I  I don’t get to see this side of her often. She’s so different at school vs. at home. I loved every minute of it!🍁🍪🐴🍬  She has lots of friends! She pulls them all in close and says “let’s take a picture together!” Haha. And she had an adjective for each of them: “Rosie is my pretty friend.” “Konrad is my awesome friend.” “Emerson is my special friend.” Etc. I loved it.

I love this picture SO much!

Lastly, the girls had Dress up night at Dance this week. Piper’s Tinkerbell outfit is like a 2T so I had to add an old TuTu underneath it to add some length, haha! And Lucy’s just recycling her recital outfit from May because she’s “dressed as a Pop Star.” Looks like I need to update our dress-up bin😂

Tomorrow is HALLOWEEN!!!! I hope it's happy for everyone! We are READY! :)

Fall Break

Ahhh, what a wonderful Fall Break that was! It was a much needed time-out from everything. And what better way to unwind and unplug than to go camping??
We learned that camping in October in Oklahoma is MUCH more pleasant than May when it’s way too hot out. We spent the weekend at a beautiful lake we’ve never been to (Dripping Springs, 30 minutes from our house) with perfect weather and beautiful views. It was idyllic. I love being in the great outdoors and exploring the forests, lakes and landmarks with my sweet family. It was a perfect “reset” that my soul needed.💚

P.S. I will say, though, that Sully was just as much of a stinker while Camping as he is at home. He was as busy as ever! And he did NOT want to go to bed....
Also, you may have noticed that Lucy got bangs! She came home from school the other day and told me she was thinking about getting bangs....A few days later she informed me that she was ready for them, so I thought, why not? We can try them out while she's still too young to care if they look terrible.  She still looks cute, but I'm not sure they're my favorite. I haven't decided yet...haha!
And lastly, I love this guy for a million reasons. But the number 1 thing I love most about him is how special he makes these 2 little girls feel. They adore their Daddy and when they want to go see the My Little Pony movie, he offers to take them and makes a date out of it. He said he was the only man in the whole theater but he loved it because it was an afternoon spent with them. They will never question his love for them and that’s why he’s my favorite man in the universe.
She was pretty excited to have "Pony Hair" :)
Now, good-night everyone! Tomorrow is Piper's "Fall Festival" at school so get ready for another October post soon!
(P.S. Isn't he the most precious thing you've ever seen?!)

The Cutest Pumpkins in the Patch

My kids are cute. There's just no other way to put it. And the joy on their faces when we take our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch is worth more than gold! Thank you, America, for providing Pumpkin Patches across the United States so that we always get to partake, no matter where we live :)
Piper was so cute. She was picking up dirty corn kernels and bits of hay as fast as her little hands could find them on the ground to feed the sweet Camel. I just adore her. She has such a love for animals!
Even Sully fed the animals carrots. He LOVED watching them take the carrots out of his hands. So much wonder and excitement in his life these days. I live for it.
Fall Break started TODAY! Yesterday was Parent/Teacher Conferences and both of the girls are doing awesome. Piper's teacher said she is an absolute Angel; one of her best behaved kids in the whole class.  She said she hasn't had to get mad at her even once this whole year and she has shown ZERO signs of anxiety. None. That's crazy.... I'd like to know where this version of Piper goes when she's at home (I kid, I kid....sort of) ;-)
Lucy is a little behind in reading but is way ahead of the game in Math.  Is she my child?? I was the complete opposite! But then I was reminded by sweet Mrs. French that yes, she is my child, because she talks a lot....TOO much. All day, non-stop and she is "VERY descriptive," her teacher tells me with a little chuckle. She leaves NOTHING out.
So there you have it.
We're finally enjoying some cooler weather, we're doing all the Fall/Halloween things we love doing each year and we are about to have 5 days of no school which means CAMPING, baking, and sleeping in.  Just kidding. There's no sleeping in at this house. Someday though, right?!
Happy Fall, Y'all!
