Love is in the Air!

So.... my sister did a "thing."  It was a big surprise for us, but I kinda knew it would happen this way...

Saturday April 18th:
"Jeremy and Coley Field. Nice ring to it, right? My sister and her fiancĂ© “eloped” today....her and Jeremy haven’t been able to keep their original wedding plans because of the pandemic, so they decided to just take the plunge and get married now with a reception to follow within a few months. I hate more than anything that I couldn’t be there, but I also understand/support them 100%. This couple has been through so much. They are such amazing people who deserve each other and a long life of love and happiness. It’s a weird time for everyone, but this makes so much sense. Coley and Jeremy, happy wedding day to you!"

Let me back up a bit.  Jeremy and Coley actually dated 13 years ago! They weren't serious, but they went on a few dates together before she ended it.  They moved on and didn't speak for the next decade.  They both got married to other people, each had 3 kids, and because of awful circumstances with both of their ex-spouses, they got divorced.  16 months after Jason left Coley, Jeremy reached out to her to wish her a "Happy Birthday."  Well.  That was that.  They immediately fell in love.  What was missing between them 13 years ago wasn't missing at ALL this time around.  It's a fairytale, really.  Fate brought them back together after they each weathered some pretty horrible storms and they just knew they had to spend the rest of their lives together.  He proposed at the beginning of this pandemic and they talked about a July wedding.  Well, this was their second wedding each so they wanted a small wedding anyway.  She found a cute venue, I looked at flights, everything was kind of sort of falling into place.... except.... Social Distancing was enforced. Then the venue had to shut down.  Flights were being cancelled left and right.  People suddenly couldn't be in the same room.  Bishops and priests all of a sudden aren't ALLOWED to marry anyone. Judges ONLY. So, after putting all their wedding planning on hold they waited and waited.  Unfortunately, the social-distancing ban was extended and they decided maybe waiting wasn't the best idea.  So on a Thursday they decided to just do it.  Just stop planning a "real" wedding and elope.  They simply wanted to be together and WHO KNOWS what is going to happen within the next few months.  They wanted their kids to be moved in together before school starts (if it ever starts!) so that they're all settled and their school work doesn't suffer by a big change.  Who wouldn't want to elope in these circumstances? I would! Luckily, Jeremy has a friend that is a judge.  He lives 2 hours away but Jeremy asked if he would officiate a wedding and the Judge not only said yes, he also said he could literally "marry" them over Zoom! His signature on the paperwork is all that is really needed- he's a judge- he can basically do it however he wants.  So that way they could elope right there in Boise and not have to drive 2 hours to do it.  But, because of the limit of who can get together, they couldn't have anyone other than immediate siblings (no nieces or nephews), their own children, and parents.  No one else- even that was more than the limit because they now have 6 kids together!  There were 19 people in all.  It was a cute little ceremony and I'm so thankful for modern technology because I almost felt like I was there thanks to all the videos and pictures.  What a sweet day for them! And what a fun story to tell their future grandchildren- getting married during a pandemic because they loved each other so much that they couldn't wait!  And- getting married over a Zoom meeting, haha! It's so awesome!  A story about TRUE love!
And now- another thing I LOVE.....we sold our house! I mentioned a few weeks ago that we were getting ready to list the house and we were working soooo hard to get it on the market, remember? Well, we followed all of our realtors requests.  She is an expert (for real, she's one of the top realtors in Oklahoma and STILL made time for us!) so what she said, we did- even though it was really hard! Once we had all the repairs done, we packed up and went to a hotel so the kids wouldn't dirty up the house before we listed it.  Monday we had cleaners come in and sanitize the whole house and scrub it down so it was sparkling clean!  Tuesday we had carpet cleaners come in and not only clean our carpets but stretch them in certain spots as well.  Wednesday we had our house staged AND the professional photographer come in and take pictures of the house.  Thursday at 4 pm our house went on the market and Sunday morning (Easter!) we woke up with an offer! It's crazy, right? I mean, I hoped our house wouldn't be on the market long because on average, houses in my neighborhood are only on the market for 2 weeks but I didn't know what would happen with the pandemic.  Well, it was meant to be because it sold FAST.  We found another BEAUTIFUL house in Yorktown (the neighborhood we have wanted to live in since we moved here!) and put in an offer and they accepted! So now both houses are in escrow and we are able to start really figuring this move out.  We close on May 22nd and so that gives us 3 days (that's Memorial Day weekend) to get a good chunk of our house unpacked and get settled in just in time for Summer.  I actually will miss our pool a lot because it's never very crowded and Yorktown always is (they have a million little kids in that neighborhood) but I'm excited to be there.  I'm hoping the new house is one we stay in until all my kids graduate high school and that we don't have to move again for a LONG time!  Lots to look forward to!! And, just so I can remember what my current house looks like being all clean and pretty, I'm adding pictures.  This house has had a LOT of great memories in it.  We will miss it dearly!
We also did the butterfly thing again this year.  We had 7 caterpillars and 5 became butterflies!

 He is hilarious...
AND- homeschooling is going ok.... We're still at it and will be until May 8th. Some days they're happy, some days they're NOT..... Lucy never lets me take pictures of her doing school work, so all of these are Miss Piper.
Not happy....
Happy!
She LIVES for the class "meets" so she can see her teacher and friends twice a week!
And that's all I have for today! Oh- one last picture of me standing in front of my NEW HOME's "Sold" sign! Makes me so happy!  The exterior of the house is tan and I hate tan houses (my current one is also tan and I've never loved it) so we are getting it painted WHITE soon.  I can't even wait.  As soon as it is done being painted I will post pictures.  It's going to be gorgeous.  Picking out the exterior paint was the best thing ever because I'm literally getting the house of my dreams! Good things are happening, even in the worst of times!
