Updates and Easter!

I do a blog make-over annually and I FINALLY got around to doing it (it looks pretty good right?  I wanted to wait till Sully came....and now he's 6 weeks tomorrow so it was time.... oops!)  But since it took me awhile, I don't have time to write about Easter.  Which, really, is ok.
You know the drill:  Dye Eggs.  Leave carrots for the Bunny.  Watch kids tear through their baskets.  Show off Easter clothes.  Egg Hunt (egg WAR in my case as they fought over all the eggs!).  Bed time!
But in the midst of it all, the true meaning of Easter was not lost on me.  He lives...He is risen, and I am eternally grateful.  I always cry every Easter as I listen to "I Know That My Redeemer Lives."  It's so beautiful.

P.S.  Last night Lucy said "Jesus died on the cross."  And Piper responded with "Yeah, and I dyed eggs!"  Haha.....Die vs. Dye.  Kids are silly :)

I Love Piper's smile!
Notice P growling at me??
That's all for now!
Oh wait! In other news: baby boy's face cleared up! Soooo relieved it was simply a rash :)

March Madness!

Before St. Patricks Day, I snapped a few pictures of the girls showing their tough side to prove that they are protective of their baby brother.  I just loved their sassy "don't mess with him" faces!  Haha, he is a loved little boy, that's for sure!
And then my beloved baby boy turned 1 month old.  How did that happen?  How?  Its so strange that it seems like he's never NOT been here.....but also, 1 month just flew by.  Way too fast.  I hope the next few months don't go by that fast, but I'm afraid it already is.  How is it that pregnancy takes eons to get through, but "life" moves so fast it almost blurs together....?  That's part of why I blog.  So I can remember the little times that someday I know will escape my mind.  Anyway, to celebrate, I dressed him like a Newsie boy :) Who doesn't love a good "old fashioned" outfit?? (By the way: at one month he weighed in at 11lbs 11 ounces, and 5 days later he weighed in at 12lbs 2 ounces.  He is a growing boy! He is 89% in weight and you can tell! I'm proud of him for being such a good eater!)

This little boy HATES being naked.  He is just starting to smile when he sees us- it's the best!  He still doesn't sleep well.  He has finally seemed to figure out his days and nights, but he's such a hungry little fella and wants to eat every 2 hours.  Then it's burping him and changing him and it all takes SO long....so I am beyond sleep deprived and it's incredibly tough!  But he's worth it.  SO worth it!  Anyway, he likes his baths a LOT but getting him out?  Get ready to listen to crazy loud screaming until he is fully dressed and back in my arms.  He likes bright screens (iPads, TV's, laptops).  We sometimes put him in his little bouncy chair to watch his Baby Einstein video and he will stare and focus on the screen for a good while- before he sleeps again.  Speaking of sleep, he still pretty much sleeps all day, but he has more periods of awake time too.  He loves to be held ALL day.... so it's pretty hard to get much done, because he has to be held standing up.  Which means I can't lay him in Lucy's arms all day.  She'd totally be up for that- she's obsessed with him still and ALWAYS begs to hold him but he fusses if we're sitting with him, little stinker!  He really likes calming music and to get better sleep, we play it softly at night in our room and it really does help! Eventually he will be a better sleeper.  I'm not too worried.  I know it will just take time.  He's my sweet baby boy- he's extra spoiled and I'm not apologizing for it! Shawn told me he thinks I spoil him more than I did with my girls.   Oops.  I guess I just didn't quite realize HOW obsessed with him I could really be ;)
He is seriously LOVED by all, and his sisters just adore him!
Our first family outing all together! Most impressive is the fact that all kids and parents were dressed, fed, and in the car by 9:26Am! #Boom#FamilyOfFive
Lucy's friend Lauryn from preschool had an Easter Egg Hunt party at her house and since siblings were invited, we made it a family event!  It was so cute!
We couldn't let National Pi Day go by without a little shout-out to our Pi baby!
Spending some time outdoor with mama on a rare, sunny day!
"Laddy the Leprechaun" didn't get caught this year....darn! The girls painted a green box and laid down some green tulle for padding inside with fake gold to try to trick him, but he got away!  Better luck next year!
He's too cute.... you can't tell in any pictures, but he has blue eyes!  The blue prevailed once again!

Last week I noticed he was getting a bad rash on his face that wasn't getting better. So just to make sure it wasn't anything related to allergies I took him in and they said it was Seborrheic Dermatitis (a form of cradle cap) on his face and it was nothing to worry about- it would get better on its own. Some babies get it on their faces and chests and some only on their scalps.
Well the past couple days its progressively gotten worse and spread to his ears and nose so I brought him back in and the doctors are stumped because it has ALL the characteristics of Seborrheic Dermatitis still, except for its way more severe than they've ever seen. So they prescribed him a topical steroid and if it doesn't start clearing up in 3 days they will refer him to a pediatric dermatologist for testing to make sure it's not related to anything regarding his immune system.
Lucy got to eat lunch at school again this week.  She was SO excited!  Her school had an "Egg Lady" come and bring real chicken eggs!  They are in an incubator in her classroom for 21 days until they hatch and so the kids got to have an egg presentation and then lunch.  It was a very exciting day for her!
And finally- I turn 29!  The last year in my 20's and I feel great!
My best birthday gift came 5 weeks and 1 day ago. I fall more and more in love with this little chub every single day and I don't even know how that is possible! ðŸ’™#HappyBirthdayToMe
Birthday love from my 3 darlings. Man, am I a lucky lady! #LucyPiperSullivan #29AndFeelingFine
Look at this french toast!  Shawn made it heart shaped!!!!
And last but not least... The sweetie who decorated the dining room with streamers and banners late last night so I'd see it when I woke up, who baked cookies as my dessert, who steamed crab legs for me (my birthday tradition) for dinner AND did the dishes!, who wrote me a very colorful and artsy white-board note to wake up to, who not only made me heart shaped French toast, but also went to McDonald's AND Dunkin Donuts to make sure I had ALL my favorite breakfast foods in bed, and who has given me extra hugs and kisses all day.... Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You deserve a HUGE thanks for spoiling me rotten and making me feel oh-so-loved! This is my last year in my 20's and I can't wait to get it started with you, Shawn :)

P.S.  For the past 2 days, these sisters have played so nicely together.  They have giggled and laughed and been so incredibly sweet.   I couldn't NOT document that.  It has made my heart happy.
Now off to watch some March Madness!
