Little Piper is on the way! What an exciting day we had today! Man, today couldn't have come soon enough. I have been a mad woman wondering who this little angel kicking inside me was! I was going CRAZY! Seriously, I felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin just waiting and waiting and waiting....20 weeks is way too long to wait! Shawn "knew" it was a girl the WHOLE time, but I was convinced it was a boy
at first. I started second guessing my gender prediction a few weeks ago when I started having all these girl dreams. And I cracked and did all of the "do-it-yourself" gender prediction tests at home and they ALL pointed to girl...and who can argue with science?? But my symptoms didn't match up with Lucy's so I assumed boy. Well, clearly I can't rely on different pregnancy symptoms to determine the gender of my children! We are absolutely thrilled. Actually, thrilled doesn't even describe how happy we are. Shawn and I BOTH wanted to give Lucy a little sister more than anything! Shawn loves having a Daddy's Girl and wanted another. And I have always said I wanted 2 girls in a row. Now that I am HAVING a girl, I can be ever-so-honest and say that I really hoped for a girl again this time. I honestly would have been so grateful for a boy as well, seeing as how I fell in love with this baby before I even knew the gender. But I seemed to have gotten what I wanted again. So thank you, Heavenly Father, for spoiling me and giving me my 2 precious princesses first. I guess I did something right to be so blessed! So, SO very blessed. Now if only I get my little boy for my 3rd, then I can be 3 for 3 and be done....maybe ;) But hey, I'm getting ahead of myself. As Shawn says " let's just focus on one baby at a time, Britt!" Hehehe!

Piper is measuring about 2 weeks smaller than usual, but they aren't changing my due date. That just means that I will have a tiny newborn. So sweet :) I can't wait for all the squeals and heavenly baby's breath, and sighs, and coos, and....oh just EVERYTHING! So excited! She is looking very healthy and everything is going perfectly. She was very calm in my belly today. She has been calm at every appointment. Her heartbeat has never been above 155 (whereas Lucy's was always in the 170s- 180s- little stinker!).
The tech put the doppler on my belly and Shawn proclaimed "It's a GIRL!" within seconds! I responded "Shawn, you don't know that. The nurse hasn't even told us yet." And the tech said "Actually, he's right. It is a girl. I managed to put the doppler right in between her legs right away. No boy parts in here!" I was shocked that Shawn could see it within 2 seconds- no lie! I guess he has an advantage since he looks at x-rays all day and can make out images faster than me :) Way to go Shawn!

So darling :) My 2 girls! |
On Saturday we went to the park to feed ducks and play on the swings. I was thinking how fun and crazy it will be next summer when we add to our brood and have 2 little girls to chase after at the park! Well, one to chase, one to hold. All exciting none the less.
Well sweet baby Piper, we look forward to holding you in our arms! Daddy, Mommy and Lucy adore you SO much already and cant wait to shower you with love. You are one special little girl :)
Until next time....
XOXOXOXOXO!
