Summer in New Hampshire

We may have gotten here in mid August, but we are trying to soak up all the Summer rays that we can before Fall hits.  So we took advantage of a day-trip that Daddy had to go on to Portsmouth and hit the beach (it's been in the high 70s and low 80s everyday- how perfect is that?)! I have to really watch Piper because she darts off so fast straight into the ocean.  That girl is a mermaid and if she could live in the water she would-  good job Piper- you take after me!  Lucy likes to swim too, but she's more into creating giant castles on the beach.  What kid wouldn't like a giant sandbox?? She's quite the little social butterfly too; she walks right up to kids and sits down to dig next to them like they've been friends forever.  I am so glad my girls aren't shy!
We also took the girls to the Mini-golf course down the street from our house.  Age 3 and under plays free, but paying for them would have been well worth the money anyway.  HOLY SMOKES were they cuuuuuute!!!! They really tried their hardest to golf and each one of them had some amazing hits that sunk right in. Shawn and I were shocked when we'd watch the ball smoothly roll across the green and turn at angles only the pros can manage.... Total luck and oh so darling!  Mostly I just wanted to get pictures of them in their golf dresses before it got cold (for my "Canvas Wall")  but I took so many on just a couple of holes that I eventually had to stop myself because I knew my finger was getting too trigger happy again....
I'm not trying to pretend that life here has been perfect (despite the cute pics)...I don't always take pictures of the bad times (unless I'm cracking up and my camera is within reach) therefore my blog is mostly about our good times.  But I've had quite a few homesick hours while I've been here and crazy/stressful I-want-to-pull-my-hair-out moments during our move-in process, but at the end of the day, I always- ALWAYS- thank Heavenly Father for placing us in a SAFE and beautiful place with reliable paychecks.  I've been on the other side and it's worse than anything I might be going through on a given day out here....

Anyway, I don't really know where that came from.  I guess if you're reading this, I wanted to assure you that we have ups and downs just like everyone else! But these are the highlights I like to read about so I post about them :)  I will say though, that New Hampshire has been a fun adventure so far and we can't wait to see what else this place has to offer!

Now I'm off to toss my kids one at a time back into their beds because they have crawled out for the 67,000 time tonight.....Sigh- when will sharing a room get easier?! Seriously- GIRLS! Get used to it already!

  1. Some really cute pictures Britt. We know life isn't always perfect and happy. That would be too boring....well maybe not, but we sure wouldnt appreciate the good times without the bad. It just makes the good times that much better. I love you and miss you but Im really grateful for modern technology that makes the separation seem a teensy bit closer:)
