I LOVE October

Holy cow.  The end of September and the beginning of October have completely flown by! Just now I looked at the calendar and realized it was October 9th and was shocked.  Where has the time gone??  We've had a pretty sweet month so far (from what I can recall).  It has been hot and not feeling much like Fall, but October is the onset of the Holiday Season and I love everything about it! The nights have cooled down a bit which has led to cooler mornings so I've been able to take Piper and Sully on a couple of walks which is good for all of us :)  We usually end up at the park in my neighborhood and I chat with the other Stay At Home Mom's- it's been nice!

Anyway, all of my kids got sick AGAIN.  These school germs mean business.  They are never-ending and Lucy brings them home and spreads them week after week after week.  Her poor body is just so tired, I know.  I can't keep up!  Poor Sullivan's cold that he caught from her 3 weeks ago turned into a double ear infection AND his lungs had fluid in them which caused stress on my end, and wheezing and nebulizer treatments on his end.  Shawn caught that bug as well and is currently on day 16 of it, although it's pretty much gone at this point other than a lingering cough.  I avoided every sickness that Lucy has brought home until this past Friday.  I woke up feeling crummy with my sinuses on fire and my throat swollen and sore and today all of that is still there along with a chest cold.  UGH. It just stinks!  At least my body isn't achy though.  When that happens, I'm done.
Luckily we still managed to make it to the Pumpin Patch yesterday for a bit.  This strain of the cold isn't too hard on their bodies like it was last time.  So we packed up and found a super cute patch not too far from our house that the kids loved.
We didn't go the fair this year because, even though they wait until the 1st week of October to do it down here, it has been so hot and trekking around fair grounds in 100 degree heat with a 7 month old didn't sound smart.  Or fun.  So we were excited to see that this Pumpkin patch allowed for the girls to ride Ponies! They were in Heaven!  And yesterday was only in the 70's! Woo hoo!!

We even let Sully feed a goat :)
Look at Sullivan's cute little Pumpkin!
This is one of my favorite pictures of my boys. I love them dearly!
Oh! I need to back up a bit here. At the end of September Grammy and Paw Paw Gilley came to town for 'Grandparents Day' at Lucy's school. It meant a lot to Lucy to have her grandparents there for her, even if it was slightly chaotic and only a 20 minute "event".  Still, she was a happy girl.  Shawn and I snuck out that night for a fun date at Flying Tee!  It ended early because Sully was fussy at home, but it was still nice to get out for an hour or so alone with my man.  That doesn't happen often enough!
On Saturday LSU played Auburn and the Gilley's brought fresh shrimp over (that they actually caught!) and we had a big delicious Shrimp Boil for the game.  I LOVE Cajun Boils.  They're my favorite!!! YUMMMMMM!
Grammy always brings the girls Happy Meal treats because she works in the Corporate offices of McDonalds.  They are spoiled little girls!

They baked and did crafts with Grammy :)

 They love "Game Day" make-up!
And Ninny and Papa are coming in less than 2 weeks! I am SOOOO excited! Woo hoo!
Good Night all!
