Mother's Day in a Nutshell

Nothing says Happy Mother's Day quite like my hubby getting up with the kids and taking them to go and get me my favorite breakfast food (McDonald's breakfast burritos with a million hot sauce packets😂) and then displaying it on a big serving tray and brining it to me at 9:30. Meaning, I SLEPT IN. And it felt ahhhhh-mazing. (Not pictured is also the dozen donuts he bought me as well). Topped off with fresh cut roses from our garden.... I got a good one, guys. Love this man of mine.

It is impossible to get a picture where everyone's faces are showing (believe me, we tried!). But look at these precious angels of mine. NOTHING in life beats being their Mama. My heart is full.💗💙💗

(This blog post is having technical difficulties, so I apologize for the weird layout. Luckily this post is short- I PROMISE.)
We spent Mother's Day doing nothing at all, and it was just what I wanted to do.  We went to the park for a bit and just relaxed at home.  It was beautiful weather so sitting in my back yard with a book was a treat for sure! Shawn let me just SIT all day.  He didn't make me lift a finger. Every single need from our kids was met by him and I didn't feel any Mom Guilt. He took care of it all! I just love him. That is the best "gift" you can give me, babe.  A day to relax. I never get to just sit, but you let me relax 100% of the day and it was seriously needed. My kids made me the best cards and I opened some sweet gifts from my Mom and Nana.  I got beautiful flowers from my in-laws (tulips are my favorite!) and I smiled a LOT.
Sully is sick again with asthma flare-ups, but he is still such a happy boy and this picture just made me smile big. Love you Sully baby.  Thank you for being the perfect end-piece to our family!
And lastly, I wanted my Mom to know how loved she is, so I posted this on FB but want to keep it for my records on my blog too :)

"My sweet Mama told me she was so proud of me because her goal in life was to raise a daughter who saw the joy and worth in being a Mom; a woman who values motherhood ABOVE ALL ELSE. I am glad I could make her proud by cherishing my calling in life. But part of why I love being a Mom so much is because of her. Because she was such a kind, serving, beautiful mom who loved me with all of her being and showed me so much love- of course I would want to follow in her footsteps. When your life is blessed beyond measure by someone who loves you, you strive to be just like them. So, happy Mother's Day to me, but also to the woman who I love so very much. Thank you for all you did and continue to do for me Mama. I love you as big as the beach."

I hope all the Mom's in the whole wide world had a beautiful Mother's Day doing just what you wanted to do. I am a little sad I couldn't spend it with my own Mom and grandma's, but spending the day with my sweet babies was perfect in every way.
