Sometimes it feels like we might do too much in December because I like to do it ALL. I really like to let my kids have a fun Christmas activity going on every weekend because I believe it helps keep the magic of Christmas alive all month long. But then when I sit down to write about it, it takes FOREVER. However, at the end of the day, the memories I'm allowing my kids to create mean so much to them. They get so excited to start new traditions and continue with the old ones. So even though it makes for a busy month of blogging, it's not going to be like this forever. We will keep filling our Decembers up as full as we can, and then on December 26th, I just get to totally relax. There are only 2 more weeks of madness and they are going to be absolutely jam-packed! (School festivities included!) For now, I'll fill you in on the last 2 weeks.
To make this easier, I'll do what I've done before. I'll copy and paste from Facebook posts to make less work for me :)
Starting with December 6th!
"This kid got a big boy haircut yesterday and suddenly looks like he’s 7💇🏻♂️AND- he made it through the whole day of preschool today for the first time- he even napped!"😱

December 7th:
I just had a "Mama Thought." Has nothing to do with Christmas, but I love these pictures. So I'll include this here.

"Been thinking about Sisters lately.... there is something sooo special about a ‘sisterhood’. I’m lucky to be part of one, and I’m blessed to be able witness one from a Mama’s point of view as well. From 2012 into eternity, I know these girls have and will love each other forever."💗🥰💗
December 8th:
"Moral of the story... buy 3 Gingerbread Houses next time so your 7 year old isn’t devastated over the fact that her 2 year old brother destroyed hers by pulling off all her candy, sucking on it for a second to get it extra sticky, and then smashing it back on in random places....😬 Yes, next year Sully will have his own to destroy."

December 9th:
"Started a new Christmas tradition tonight!🎄I can’t even count how many times Sully said “WOW!!"

December 10th:
Annual-Family-Christmas-Pajama-Picture-Time! (We only started this last year, who knows if it will continue throughout the years or not- these PJ's still fit us all from last year, haha! Well, except Sully's- he needed a bigger size. And he was also NOT impressed in the group shots, hahaha!)

Also December 11th:
"🎵And so, I’m offering this simple phrase to kids from 1 to 92. Although it’s been said many times, many ways, Merry Christmas to you.🎵

It was such a treat to watch some of Central Elementary’s Kindergarteners sing at the retirement home tonight. I ♥️’ed every second of it!"

P.S. How cool is it, that after school hours, on a school night, our little kindergarteners still committed to serving the people in this retirement community? I've said this a million times and I'll say it again: I LOVE WHERE I LIVE.
This is hands down, THE BEST, Kindergarten teacher in the Universe!
AND finally, we ALSO had a BUSY day on Sunday because we had Piper's birthday party! When I was calling around back in August to look for places that I could possibly book a birthday party in December everywhere was booked solid! Next year I'm gonna have to start calling in June! December fills up so fast because everyone wants to do Christmas parties. It is nuts! But I finally found a place after hours of research (the owner moved some stuff around for me and even though Sunday is not ideal, it was all we could get) and it was beyond adorable! A candy shop called The Candy Castle hosts little parties in a back section. It was a unicorn party, of course, and it was everything a little girl could want in a party! It seems like I save up all year for birthdays and Christmas, but when I actually get to pull it off, it's worth every penny! It was Piper's first big party that I have done for her- usually we just celebrate at home. But now that she's in Kindergarten, it was her turn to have a party with friends. And it was so much fun! A cute party for a cute girl! I can't believe she is almost 6! They played Beanboozled (yuck!), had a photoshoot with all those props people have these days, made their own candy necklaces, decorated paper cups and then made their own Soda drink! They got to choose any flavor they wanted! The owner did everything! All I had to do was bring the birthday girl, the cake and my wallet... Decorations and everything else was all them! So easy for me! It was a SWEET party for my Sweetie Pi <3
This cake is missing 2 purple flowers on the front of it, and the "B" in birthday is ruined thanks to Sully's sticky fingers..... I tried my best to fix it but it's not perfect. BUT, there is edible glitter on it!!! Isn't that cute?! It was the first time I have ever bought a birthday cake instead of making one. I was kinda sad not to be able to bake her cake myself but due to some sort of code at the candy shop, they require licensed bakeries to make the cakes. Thank goodness grocery store cakes are pretty cheap! |
Even Sully got to play Beanboozled. He got either popcorn, or rotten fish, and it was definitely the rotten fish! He gagged and spit it out and then didn't ask for anymore Jelly Beans, hahaha!
Oh, and they had this sign out front for Pipe's too. It was a SWEET day!
Only 12 days until Christmas, OH MY!!!! As crazy as December can be, I hope everyone's having a good one so far. Ours has been full of happiness and that's all I can ask for!
