CHEER SEASON IS UPON US! And, although I'm biased, I definitely have THE cutest cheerleader on the planet. And this season, now that they're in 3rd grade, "stunting" is a thing (I'm pretty sure I've already mentioned this...). Lucy's a flier (she's so stinkin' tiny) so she gets raised up in the air by the "bases" (the girls who hold her). She's not officially flying YET but she does stand ABOVE their heads at this point. I'm so impressed by how much these girls are learning this year! They all look so cute out there on the sidelines cheering for the boys. They don't know the rules of football but you wouldn't know it, haha! They do the appropriate cheers for certain calls made and they're quiet and in formation between the cheers. It's my favorite thing ever. I wish Piper would have done cheer as well (can you imagine that cute blonde out there?!?) but she just wants to dance, which I also love! Anyway, the weather was perfect! (cloudy and low 80's), it was a home game, and the 3rd grade boys played lights out! We won 21-0! Yay!
Here is the whole 3rd grade Squad! We are down 16 girls from last year, but we still have a ton! When the announcer calls out each name during the half-time show, he always likes to make a joke about how many of them there are, haha.
The little sisters :) Sadie's brother is on the 3rd grade team and Piper's sister (Lucy) cheers for him. They are also our neighbors so we see a lot of them. Sadie is the cutest little 3 year old ever!
The girls doing their half-time performance :)
Piper and Daniel. They are in the same class at school and this is another one of Sadie's older brothers. Daniel plays 1st grade football so if Piper had done cheer this year she would have been "his" cheerleader. She's considering it for next year, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!
We had a busy Labor Day weekend! It was the start of Football season so I dressed up my whole family in our Boise State gear and then we headed out to the Aquarium. I got a lot of stares (and probably glares) because Oklahoma fans don't like BSU ;-) We watched my team beat Florida State in the morning and then the girls had their Annual Lemonade Stand that they do each Labor Day. They made $29.40 and off to Walmart they went to pick out their goodies. They each just HAD to buy a JoJo bow, and then Lucy chose a lego toy and Piper picked a stuffed animal, and Sully was given $3 from them and bought a tiny toy motorcycle. I felt so bad for the people behind me in line because they had $19 worth of quarters and we had to count it all out to pay the cashier. Hahahaaa!
Later that night we went for an evening swim and then watched LSU beat Georgia. The next day we dug for worms in our backyard and took the kids fishing. Sully fished for the first time! He didn't catch anything and he had ZERO patience so it wasn't the best experience, but at least he's learning! Piper has the best cast ever. Everyone who sees her cast always remarks on how amazing it is. She LOVES to fish! We went back to the pool both Sunday and Monday because it officially closes on Labor Day and we wanted to get as much swim time in as possible. Now that it's closed I feel like Summer is OFFICIALLY over. No more neighborhood pool days for us until Memorial Day. Sigh. I hate it when the pool closes.... especially because it's supposed to be in the 90's pretty much the rest of the month!
Anyway, that's all for now! This weekend Lucy has an "away" game to cheer at so we will be trekking out to a hotel for a night. Should be another busy, hot, fun weekend of Cheer! OH! P.S. I had to go in for a teacher training day (I'll be subbing at the preschool again once a week this year) so Sullivan kinda had his 1st day of school too! It wasn't official 'cause it was only a 3 hour day of daycare for the teacher's kids, but he wanted a picture too :)
*Just a random picture because I love their faces :)* |
