Oh my goodness! We only have 3 months of school left! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? We just passed the 6 month mark and with that came the "100th day of School" Celebration. Well, the 3rd graders didn't do anything. But the 1st graders had to dress up like 100 year olds.
She wouldn’t let me draw wrinkles on her, but we still made her the cutest 100 year old ever!
For some Lucy news, there was an unfortunate situation at basketball.... I called it "David and Goliath".... they paired the biggest girl on the opposing team up with the smallest girl on our team (Lucy)! They do it based on each girls’ skill, but it made everything even MORE impossible for Lucy! Also, the other team was all 4th graders... needless to say, our team suffered a horrible loss! Hoping tomorrow's game has a better outcome!🏀🏀🏀
After that, we had the most beautiful day! It was 80 degrees and Sunny on Sunday, and then 3 days later on Wednesday we had SNOW!!! Not just "Oklahoma Snow" like usual (the light dustings we've gotten over the years) but FULL ON snow! Ok, it was only 3-4 inches, but to us it was everything!
So we went from sprinklers to snow within 72 hours. They squeezed out every last drop of hot Sunshine over the weekend before we had the storm rolled in on Wednesday!☀️❄️
AND THEN.... THE SNOW!
The most snow we’ve had since we’ve lived here! NO School! SNOW DAY!!!!
Our neighborhood has a little hill in it that all the kids sledded down for hours! Since not everyone here owns sleds, we saw pool floats going down, boogie boards and even an ice chest holding a kid sailing down, haha!
We even had enough snow stick throughout the night to have a second snow day in a row AND make another snowman. My kids were in HEAVEN. Piper doesn’t even remember living in Colorado, Idaho and New Hampshire where we had more than a foot of snow in our yard for months on end because we moved here when she was 3. Lucy’s memories of it all are fleeting at best, and Sully has never ever been able to play in large amounts of snow, even though he born during a legit blizzard, haha! This snow made us all very happy!
Later that day I opened my fridge and found this. If that's not just the cutest thing....
In between the Snow and the Sunshine, Shawn turned 36 :) It was a long day! Breakfast in bed happened at 6:30am so the girls could participate and still get to school on time🥓🍳. Busy day from 7-4🕝. Dinner at his favorite {kid friendly} restaurant🌮🌯. King Cake for dessert (no baby was found until night 2)🎂. We ended the day by watching TV with the fireplace going, waiting for the snow to start falling📺🔥❄️. It was a nice day. I hope he felt loved... ‘cause he is. Happy Birthday Shawn💙
The kids put all the candles in the cake themselves ;-)
This gift was really special to him. I had a little LSU photoshoot of the kids one week when Shawn was out of town and surprised him with a collage of them all. I'll have to put those pictures up on the blog soon! They're pretty cute!!
So, I have to end the blog on a frustrating note. This boy is going to be the death of me! Today was a doozy!
I will NEVER, I repeat, NEVER take this boy to the mall by myself ever again. Never. I was trying to have a little pre-birthday day date with him and let him get his birthday bear and a few treats, but no- he wasn’t having it. He was out of control. Like one of the worst hyper moods ever. The ONE time he stopped to actually enjoy himself was watching the bear getting stuffed. Other than that, he hated Build a Bear. It was just embarrassing. Throwing bears across the room, yelling, doing laps, etc. I could see the Build a Bear lady pleading with us to leave with her eyes. And trust me, I was trying to get out of there as fast as I could. I had 4 stops on my list today at the mall and was only able to go to 1 1/2 before giving up and leaving. And his bandaid on his face in the 1st picture? I don’t where it went in the 2nd picture. What item of clothing he could have stuck it to in a store, what floor it lay discarded on... who knows. All I know is that today was pure torture. Don’t let these pictures fool you. This boy is nothin’ but trouble!😩😭#TasmanianDevil #AForceToBeReckonedWith
I mean, a week ago he was so well-behaved at TJ Maxx that he just reclined all cutely in this little recliner! You just never know what you're gonna get with this stinker... He turns 4 in just 9 days... I'm really hoping the 4th year is better than the 3rd. Because the 3rd was FOR SURE better than the 2nd- still hard, but better!
