I'm SO SO SOOO sad that Summer is over. It's still incredibly hot, but the fun is done. Lucy starts school in less than 48 hours. Can you believe it???!?! I remember a blog I wrote 5 years ago where I stated that the day she started Kindergarten, I'd have to be escorted off the premises 'cause I couldn't fathom ever leaving her for the day. And now here I am. About to do just that :( It will be weird to have Lucy gone all day and have it be just me and Piper and Sully..... I can't let myself go too much into detail tonight because it's taking all my strength to get through this week without losing it completely.... I'll wallow in the heartache in just a couple days!
So before I get there, I must catch up on our Summer in Oklahoma! We didn't go on any trips (we've travelled ENOUGH this year!) and we didn't do anything crazy, super fun. But we swam a LOT. We watched the Olympics. We ate yummy produce. We shopped for school supplies for Lucy. We fed the hummingbirds (and we have a TON of them!). We watched thunder and lightening storms from our back porch. We went to a Farmer's Market. We shopped for home decorations in cute local shops. We played outside a LOT. We went to the Movies and the library a LOT. We read books. We played darts. We slept in. We made neighborhood friends. We relaxed. We had fun. And it was the perfect Summer. I am sad it is over now.

Tulsa has FREE SUMMER MOVIES for kids Tuesdays. Free snacks, free movies. In chairs that recline with the touch of a button. They also have free bowling every day. Seriously. This is the place to be! |

Lucy's school supplies. We had a fun date! Still in shock over it all... |
|
They caught a caterpillar and Piper said "Lucy- you need to read him 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' to teach him how to turn into a butterfly!" Lucy can't read yet, so her version of the end went like this "he wrapped his big buns in a cocoon...." ๐๐๐๐๐ I died! And right after I took this picture, Piper growled at me for ruining the moment. |
|
And IN the movie theater with the reclining seats and the free Summer movies, they also have a "cry room." A sound-proof room for babies who cry with a screen to continue watching the movie. I mean.... genius. Just awesome. I've NEVER lived in such a kid-friendly community in my entire life! |

After bath hair. Not too happy with me! |

When your 5 MONTH old is as big as your 5 YEAR old.... HAHAHA! |
And to kick off the school year, the girls' started Dance classes tonight! Piper has elected to take Ballet and Tap, and Lucy wanted nothing more than to take Hip-Hop and tumbling! It is so cute to watch these clumsy girls jump around. I love it. I can't wait to see their progress at the end of the year (in May) and watch their recitals! It is going to be a fun year!
{P.S. Every pose Lucy is doing was her own idea. She wanted to pose for all the pictures}

Another thing: my baby boy hit the 6 month mark today. NOOOOO!!!!!! I've never, EVER been so sad to see my kiddo's grow. I know it's because it's my last baby. But it's ripping my heart out. There are too many things this week that my Mama heart hurts for. STOP GROWING! Please time- just sloooooow down. Please :(
We also met Lucy's sweet teacher this morning. Her name is Mrs. Henderson and she seems like such a great, caring teacher. I think Lucy is going to adore her. It was a busy, busy day! Now I'm off to fill out the remainder of Lucy's school forms and who knows how long that will take. Life just got intense for the Gilleys!

She's not going to school yet, but she is READY! |

Such a big school for such a tiny girl! They are building a new elementary school this year (the 5th one in the Bixby/Jenks area) because there are so many kids! This school has 900 kids and it's only Pre-K through 2nd grade! I LOVE living in a place with so many kids. |
Good night all!
