December Happenings

....And RIGHT in the middle of the craziest month of the year, sickness hit us again..... GRRRRR. We were "this close" to taking Sully to the hospital again the other night for more intense wheezing, but thanks to cold night air and his nebulizer we were able to avoid that and get him in to the doctor bright and early the next day.  The doctor informed us that he has Asthma.  I hate that he has Asthma, but it's nice to have some answers now. Answers to WHY he gets SO sick whenever he catches a simple cold.  When most people get a cold, they are fine.  They don't feel good but they get through it.  When Sullivan gets a cold, his bronchioles shrink up so that it's hard to breathe and it terrifies me to watch him struggle for a breath.  Right now he is on a steroid for his lungs along with breathing treatments every 4 hours.  I really wish we could keep the germs out of my house! This is exhausting!
Speaking of exhaustion and Sully.... He is STILL not sleeping through the night.  I don't even have the energy to get into it.  All I know is that I have tried EVERYTHING and there's no cure for that stubborn guy. He is just not a sleeper.
He IS however, the most adorable baby in the world- especially since I cut his hair! Oh my goodness he looks SO handsome!  He shaggy hair was getting out of control so we snipped it and even though there are a few places that look less than stellar, for the most part it turned out to be ultra-adorable.

We also got our first REAL tree!  We've always had a fake one until now and even though we just went to the store to pick it out, it was still exciting.  The pine smells SO yummy..... Not sure I like the pine needles everywhere, but the scent more than makes up for that!
Another thing we did this month that is definitely worth mentioning is watch the girls' first dance recital! IT. WAS. AWESOME.  Lucy's hip-hop class performed "Ice Ice Baby" and it was so funny! She didn't know all of the moves but she tried her hardest and it was still the cutest thing ever.  Her skinny little self wearing her hi-top sneakers, dancing around to Vanilla Ice is officially one of my best memories in life.  Piper's ballet class danced to "Do You Hear What I Hear" and Piper stole the show! She started her own freestyle ballet dancing before anyone was set to begin. All the little dancers stood on the stage and just watched her dance all by herself in front of a BIG audience to her own made up ballet moves.  The dance academy even posted her solo dance on their website and everything.  It was beyond adorable.  I was laughing and crying.  Neither one of them even knows what stage fright means, haha! They didn't have Christmas outfits; the big Spring Recital is when they wear the fancy dance costumes.  But they still looked cute and every single dancer that night was a star! I loved every performance!
Lucy is all the way on the far Right
Piper waving to us all right before she began her solo improv dance :)
Lastly, the kiddos visited Santa and Sully didn't mind him much at the girls recital when they quickly visited with him, but he did NOT enjoy him the 2nd time around... Oh well, we tried.  And I got some good pictures before and during so that's all that really matters, right? Hehehe.  Lucy asked for Walkie Talkies and Finding Dory.  Piper asked for Shimmer and Shine dolls and The Secret Life of Pets.  Check and check!

Now we gear up for Piper's 4th birthday this upcoming weekend!  Should be fun! Let's just pray we all stay healthy until Christmas and beyond!

(I love how it took me until November to meet Sully's individual deductible so that we enjoyed lower medical bills for a solid month. Awesome.)

Good night!
