So, I know that once Halloween hits things are going to get crazy so I better write a quick update of our lives NOW before I get bombarded by the Holiday season!
First: This may not seem significant to anyone else but it was HUGE to me. I got my first gray hair. Yes. You read that right; I'm blogging about a hair. I found it while waiting in the carline for Piper after preschool let out. There it was: a wiry, silver, thick strand sticking up out of my ponytail. I plucked it and brought it home to show Shawn. I can't even believe it!
We also went to a Chalk Festival that came to town! What people can do with Chalk amazes me! The kids got to flavor their own Sno-Cones, there were balloon animals made, a live band played GOOD bluesy music, and there was a splash pad. It was fun! I seriously love where we live!
Next, Grammy and Paw Paw came to visit for Grandparent's Day at the girls' school! They all had fun and it was special for the girls to show off their grandparents at their school. The school gives coffee, juice and donuts and then the Grandparents are invited into the classrooms to check everything out. It's precious! They also got to eat lunch with the kids at school, so that was exciting too!
Also while they were visiting our County fair was in town AND Disney on Ice was here! Grammy, me and the little girls had fun going to watch all the Princesses Dance on the ice. It was BEYOND adorable. So much fun. The music was sweet, the iceskaters were good and the girls got to dress up and waved and waved the whole time just hoping the princesses would see them :)
Then we met up with the boys at the fair. Piper rode a rollercoaster with me (a kiddie one) and inherited my need for speed! She LOVED it! She was soooo pumped full of adrenaline afterwards and kept shouting "THAT WAS THE BEST THING EVER!" Meanwhile, we practically had to force Lucy to get on it and when it was over she wailed that it was scariest thing ever (she takes after her Daddy, hehehe).
Oh yeah, and LSU had a game. So of COURSE that was a priority (we sadly lost though....big time.)
(Grammy and Paw Paw always provide me and my kids with our Tiger clothes!)
Paw Paw LOVES having another grandSON to do boy stuff with :) |
Then the girls were once again part of the Jenks Homecoming parade. Yep- they're in dance again this year. Lucy initially said she didn't want to do dance, but last second changed her mind. She wants to do tap/ballet this year though. She isn't into hip-hop anymore, which I was bummed about! But they looked so cute on their float, waving to everyone down Main Street. Shawn was in California so he missed it :( But I loved it! What I DON'T love about the Jenks Homecoming parade is that it is my kids' future rival High School, hehe. We will be going to Bixby High School and Jenks and Bixby are BIG longtime rivals. It's a bummer we can't march in the Bixby parade, but the Dance studio is in Jenks, hence the Jenks HS parade....
Lastly, we celebrated Schmidtty the Kitty's 1st birthday! We love having a declawed cat because the kids can be as rough as they want with him and he can't do nothin' about it, hahaha!
P.S.The girls got their school pictures back yesterday and OH MY GOSH. Could they BE any more adorable???!!?! AND we finally had one single day cold enough for long sleeves..... then it went back to 90 :( By the way, when I say cold, I mean 75. That's "cold" for us Okies ;-)
That's all folks!
